Curated by Valentina Grignoli
In Switzerland, milk cartons carry Milch Lait Latte, think of the confusion for a little girl who calls him Mleko! This is also the title of a small but intense book written by Ed Wige and winner of the Swiss Literature Awards. An 8-year-old girl has just arrived in Switzerland, fleeing the war with her mother. In her story we discover with her a new countryin which the little girl feels sometimes helpless, sometimes alone, if she happens to be happy. She misses her home, misses her father. We don't know anything about him, but we can guess it from the childish words that say and don't say about the protagonist; just as, thanks to the particular language that takes us back in time we can feel the powerful emotions of childhood.
During the lunch break Valentina Grignoli will tell about Ed Wige's book, not yet published in Italian, and it will be possible to listen to some of the author's readings through sound excerpts.
