Francesco Garolfi Trio

  • Rivetta Tell Riva Giocondo Albertolli Lugano, TI, 6900 Switzerland (map)

Francesco Garolfi is a guitarist, composer, arranger, producer, session man, sound designer and performer: "one of the best musicians I've worked with," as Peter Walsh (producer of Peter Gabriel, Scott Walker, Simple Minds, Miguel Bosé) called him. He has played with national and international artists, in Italy and abroad (including two tours in the U.S.), played for the Pope in front of 500,000 people, worldwide, and for unique events such as EXPO (U.S. pavilion), at Water Day at the Mole Antonelliana in Turin, for MTV Day in Genoa, at the MAC in Rome, at the Triennale in Milan.

Winner of the Italian Blues Award, Francesco has developed a personal approach to music of African-American roots, after years of research (including a graduate thesis in Social Psychology on musia) and development of his own language, now appreciated and recognized. With his trio, he presents an elegant and engaging journey of exploration of roots music, starting from traditional rural blues meets gospel, roots music to spirituals and jazz. In a strictly acoustic show, the Francesco Garolfi trio interprets the many facets of a musical genre that can be intimate, passionate, rebellious and romantic. A repertoire selected by Garolfi, played with technique and passion, with personality and respect for tradition.

Francesco Garolfi Trio:

Francesco Garolfi: vocals and guitars
Giorgio Peggiani: harmonica
Giacomo Aio: drums
