Soul SIsters of Gospel

It is the Afro sound that captures well all those musical refinements scattered here and there within what is probably one of the best Gospel combos around. A palette of vocal sounds and colors that combines well with the powerful, enlightening and rejuvenating piano accompaniment to bring those fragments together in one mindfulness session, away from modernities, seeking an unfashionable style and enhancing the tradition of true GOSPEL. The fading of African ethnic identity to explore the religious songs of early 20th century America in elegant vocal suites is configured through a sequence between solos that at times seem to take on human forms until they scratch our skin... all this is the musical masterpiece offered by the Soul Sisters, amazing Vocalists of rare artistic quality ... for an unforgettable concert.

Line-up:

Suzanne Wognin - contralto
Maggy Lemoine - soprano
Renée Agaya - alto
Peggy Petitot - piano & vocal

Fantastic Negrito

Fantastic Negrito 's latest recording effort is Grandfather Courage, an acoustic version of the acclaimed fourth studio album White Jesus Black Problems (Storefront Records, 2022), which earned him a 2023 Grammy Awards nomination in the Best American Roots Performance category for the single Oh Betty.

Part love story, part history lesson, the extraordinary White Jesus Black Problems is an enthralling ode to the strength of family and the enduring resilience of humankind. Inspired by the interracial-and illegal-love story of his ancestors, a white servant girl and a black slave in 1750s Virginia, the album's tracks are bold and thought-provoking in addressing themes such as racism, capitalism, and the true meaning of freedom, without ever losing sight of the desire and determination underlying the narrative. Each track alone can sum up the meaning of the entire album, but analyzing the album and the related film as a whole leads to a much more transcendent experience, one that challenges knowledge about our identity, where we come from, and where we are headed.

Delta Boschetto - Parco Ciani Band

The band met and played for the first time in 2016 in the Ticino region (southern Switzerland), focusing on offering songs from the Delta Blues tradition using a quartet consisting of bass, drums and two guitars. The Delta Boschetto - Parco Ciani Band found its first inspiration in the songs of Robert Johnson, launching a modern sound anthology that compiled 29 of the author's songs. The result was a collection of pieces of immeasurable value. The band decided to focus exclusively on arrangements of Robert Johnson's music.

Over the years, the Delta Boschetto - Parco Ciani Band has evolved through collaborations that have fostered innovation. The result has been an evolution of its sound. Today the band reflects the contributions of musicians with remarkable backgrounds, such as drummer Matteo Frapolli, bassist Carlo Reichlin, slide guitarist Gianluca Croci and guitarist-singer Oliver Frei. With Frei joining the quartet, the Delta Boschetto - Parco Ciani Band has shifted its focus by creating original songs that maintain a strong connection to Johnson's Mississippi Delta sound.

Today the band is very active in the region, often playing at major concerts and events. Our mission is to maintain and grow awareness of this historic sound among current and future generations, desperately trying to KEEP BLUES ALIVE!

Lucy Woodward

The new album, "Stories From The Dust," is perhaps her most personal to date, made with GRAMMY award-winning co-producer and co-writer of most of the songs on the album, David Garza (known for work with Fiona Apple and Gaby Moreno). The tracks and melodies draw you in to Lucy's penetrating insights into questions of the heart in the world's fragile present. David and Lucy spent several weeks in downtown Los Angeles writing these stories about women, those she grew up with - strongly independent and unconventional women who raised her - and those she observed from afar, both on the playground and on the subway. "Stories From The Dust" boasts the extraordinary bass presence of Tim Lefebvre and the co-writing collaboration of Larry Goldings.

Inspired by Bill Withers and Nina Simone, Lucy added inspirations from the deep roots of Americana, blues, flamenco singing and the sounds of female vocalists Sergio Mendes & Brasil '66. "Stories From The Dust" is radical and melodic, continuing a long line of critically acclaimed albums geared toward the artistic perfection characteristic of the New York native. Other collaborations include Charlie Hunter, Pink Martini (who sings in Croatian, Turkish, Spanish, French and Japanese on short notice), several larger ensembles in Europe such as the WDR Big Band, the Danish Radio Big Band, the Frankfurt Radio Big Band and the Orchestra de la Suisse Romande. Recording/touring credits also include Rod Stewart, Snarky Puppy, Celine Dion, Charlie Hunter and Barbra Streisand.

Line-up:

Jelle Roozenburg - guitar
Niek de Bruijn - drums
Udo Pannekeet - bass guitar

Jontavious Willis

With every generation, a young bluesman bursts onto the scene and sends a jolt through the blues community. Jontavious Willis may have just that effect on people. The 22-year-old multi-instrumentalist has released a new album, "Spectacular Class." Through original lyrics written by Willis himself, this talented musician offers a timeless album that features all types of blues: Delta, Piedmont, Texas and Gospel.

Originally from Greenville, Georgia, Willis grew up singing gospel music at Mount Pilgrim Baptist Church with his grandfather. From an early age, he showed talent and passion for music. At the age of 14, he came across a YouTube video of Muddy Waters playing "Hoochie Coochie Man" and was immediately hooked on the blues.

Living legend Taj Mahal describes him as the "Wonderboy" and the "Wunderkind." In 2015, Mahal asked Willis to play on stage with him. This appearance provoked an enthusiastic response from the audience and led Willis to bigger stages and more opportunities, including playing opening shows on the TajMo tour with his musical mentors Taj Mahal and Keb 'Mo'.

Many of Willis' fans consider him an old soul. His style of playing instruments and his voice touch the very roots of country blues. He brings back the true soul of the music. A newspaper headline once called him a "70-year-old bluesman in the body of a 20-year-old."
