Yuri Catania's street art work plunges into the depths of Lake Lugano and the adventure continues in an underwater journey with astronaut mermaids and local fish in a sort of overlap between emerged and submerged. The participatory street art work Lugaxy Astro Flowers, created by Yuri Catania last September, continues its journey on the facade of Lugano's Palazzo dei Congressi, espousing the Village Family theme inspired by "The Little Mermaid" from Hans Christian Andersen's book.
To dive to the bottom of Lake Ceresio to discover an underwater world with astronaut sirens and local fish, in a kind of parallel with the space world already represented. Catania's idea is to bring the exploration between space, nature and technology, which inspired the previous work, to an equally unknown and mysterious place like the backdrop of Lake Lugano where the strongly distinguishable elements will be the local flora and fauna represented in a fabulous, abstract and colorful situation. In addition, a spatial version of the "Little Mermaid" will be represented as heroes and travelers of this story, with groups of people, figures of children and adults in the role of explorers.
The surreal world depicted will overlap but not replace the previous installation, concatenating and complementing in a new way what has already been created on the entire facade of the Palazzo dei Congressi, in a kind of overlap between emerged and immersed.
The participatory work is open to all people, adults and children, who wish to contribute at least one hour of their life, to its realization.
