Toponymy

  • Foce Theater 1 Via Foce Lugano, TI, 6900 Switzerland (map)

Curated by Compagnia Marta Pistocchi and in collaboration with PEM Habitat Teatrali

Toponomastica is a very special theater-song. In fact, the traditional scheme of Milanese cabaret allows itself to be contaminated and hybridized. The clown takes over, but leaves room for the most disparate influences, always played with lightness and originality, from Moni Ovadia to Gabriella Ferri, from Jannacci to the Banda Osiris. All this gives life to an unexpected and surprising pastiche that takes us by the hand and leads us to the discovery of a city that we too often do not know how to look at with attentive enough eyes.If mice knew how to speak what would they say about our (and their) city? And if they could sing what songs would they tell it with?

From this provocative question comes Toponomastica, an imaginative lecture by mice who analyze with biting irony the rules and lifestyles of our cities, and the vices and virtues of the humans who live there. The gaze of our mice, played by Marta Pistocchi and Pierangelo Frugnoli, is a different, sideways one. They perspective it from the bottom of the last, the marginalized, but also of those who see in urban landscapes an infinite possibility, a laboratory of sociality that can unite much more than divide.
