Curated by Sten Lex
From July 16 to 28, renowned Italian artist duo Sten Lex will create an artistic intervention on the comb wall separating Lido di Lugano from Via Foce. The work, part of the art series titled "Confini," is a geographical abstraction, a composition that reshapes geographical boundaries and creates new ones. The mural takes up both cartography and the concept of sheet music and musical composition, while emphasizing the rhythmic cadence of the pillars themselves.
In the case of this intervention, the grid that artists usually use to create their murals is preconstituted by all the tiles that make up the concrete surface. The fascinating aspect is the double reading created by the cracks that show the changing landscape behind on one side and the frontal work on the other, thus creating a kinetic dynamism.
The work is created through "Stencil Poster," a process devised by the artists that involves creating a matrix directly on the wall and through the destruction of it to bring the final work to life.
